The beginning of this project coincides with the 12th annual Film Noir Festival in San Francisco. For the next week I will be spending most of my waking hours cooped up in the Castro Theatre shmoozing with impeccably dressed noirphiles, drinking free booze, and wallowing in cynicism and violence. I will be updating this blog as often as I can with thoughts and background on the films being screened. This year's focus is on international noir, a refreshing departure from the Americentrism often applied to noir as a genre. Updates to follow!
